Making fields searchable in Dynamics CRM 2013

We recently had a customer that wanted to search on certain fields in the Account Entity in CRM 2013.  By default – only a handful of the fields are indexed in the Quick Find portion of the entity (in this case, Accounts).

To add fields to your search – first you need to navigate to Settings:

Then navigate to Customizations:

Then Customize the System:

Navigate to the Entity you want to modify, choose Views, and then Quick  Find (double click Quick Find):

In the right hand side you will see Add Find Columns – Cl

Check off the fields you wish to add then choose Ok:

Choose Save and Close:

image

Finally – once you are done – make sure you Publish All Customizations:
